Governor Dr.Tamilisai Soundarajan Message World Energy Conservation

Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan’s message on the occasion of the World Energy Conservation Day -The World Energy Conservation Day is the occasion to realise the importance of energy and its conservation. It is high time that we all understand the need for efficient and judicious use of energy and adhere to the energy conservation methods in our day to day life.

It is popularly said that energy saved is energy produced. At a time when the Global Warming is posing a serious threat to the existence of life on planet earth, the energy conservation assumes greater importance.

It is high time that we adhere to the Energy Conservation Building Codes (ECBC) known as Green Buildings that effectively reduce the energy consumption by 40 to 60 per cent than other buildings.

The increased utilisation of renewable energy sources and the promotion of alternative energy sources that are environment-friendly have to be explored on a priority basis.

We need to make the energy-efficient practices part of the curriculum at every level of education so as to inculcate the spirit of energy conservation as a habit of life.
On this occasion, we need to re-dedicate ourselves to create awareness on the energy conservation among all sections of the people with an objective to protect global eco-system and make our planet Earth more habitable for the future generations.
We can make our Earth more liveable by avoiding excessive use of energy, preventing the wasteful use of energy and by promoting the alternative sources of energy like solar energy, hydro energy, tidal energy, geo thermal energy, and biomass energy etc., in every possible field.
